Modders have gotten their hands on a leaked build of Nvidia's DLSS 5 and are now injecting the upscaling technology into a wide range of PC games, according to TechSpot. The outlet reports that the results are frequently chaotic and humorous, as the software is being applied to titles it was never designed for.
The leak appears to have originated from a DLL file that surfaced online, hinting at a near-term release for the technology, as reported by TechPowerUp. The Verge notes that modders are actively putting Nvidia's AI effects on "everything," suggesting a broad and rapid adoption of the leaked files across the gaming community.
One notable development is that the leaked DLSS 5 has already been patched to run on Nvidia's previous-generation RTX 4000 series graphics cards. According to Tom's Hardware, modders have worked around incompatible CUDA instructions to make the software function on older hardware, which was not officially supported.
